This arrangement of the hymn was created by Gareth Bowman for the Coalburn Silver Band to perform as part of a virtual band project during one of the Covid-19 lockdowns.

The hymn tune Blaenwern was written by William Penfro Rowlands in 1905. The name of the tune, Blaenwern, is derived from a farm in Pembrokeshire where Rowlands lived for a period. A versatile church musician, Rowlands worked as a teacher in various schools and composed numerous hymn tunes and anthems.
